The merchandise accompanied the long-awaited release of his 10th studio album “Donda,” and served as a further extension of West and Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia’s creative partnership promoting the project.
The collection — which was “engineered by Balenciaga,” according to West’s site — includes four black long sleeve T-shirts, one with the year 2024, a potential nod to the artist’s presidential ambitions. Accessories include a black baseball hat, as well as a black mask with zippered eye holes that West has worn several times in recent weeks.
Gvasalia was behind the creative direction of the past two listening events for the album, managing set design and visuals at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and most recently at Chicago’s Soldier Field.
